The objects of the Fund are:
- To assist with bursaries for such persons as the trustees shall think fit to enable them to study and acquire knowledge and skill in the disciplines, and in particular of promoting the same in developing countries (whether or not in the Commonwealth) in which there would be special benefit to the community.
- To establish or support or aid in the establishment or support of projects for the dissemination of knowledge and skill in the said disciplines.
- To establish or support or aid in the establishment or support of projects for research or experiment in relation to the said disciplines or to the application of the said disciplines.
The disciplines are land surveying, quantity surveying and land economy.
Land surveying can be interpreted as including subjects now generally described as geomatics. Land economy includes valuation and estate management.
